Cookies

Cookies are small files which are stored on your computer. When you use Minnit, cookies are used to store your preferences and login information.

In certain cases, your browser may not accept cookies from Minnit at all, or it may not accept cookies if the chat is embedded.

Allowing cookies

Certain features (e.g. logging into your account) require cookies to be set on your computer.

If your browser is blocking cookies when Minnit is embedded, you should be able to log into your account by logging into your account inside of the chat, or visiting the login page directly.

If this doesn't work, you'll have to manually allow cookies from Minnit in your browser.

Here are the instructions for allowing cookies on the most popular browsers:

Chrome

  1. Click on the menu button Chrome Menu Button, click settings, scroll down and click Privacy and Security.

  2. Click Site Settings, click Additional Content Settings, and then click on On-device site data.

  3. This should be set to Allow sites to save data on your device.

If you've blocked sites from storing data, you can add [*.]minnit.chat and [*.]organizations.minnit.chat below. You may need to allow additional domains if the chat is using a vanity or custom domain.

Microsoft Edge

  1. Click on the menu button Edge Menu Button, click Settings and click on Cookies and Site Permissions.

  2. Scroll down and click on Cookies and site data. Make sure "Allow sites to save and read cookie data (recommended)" is turned on.

Firefox

  1. Click on menu button Firefox Menu Button, click Settings and then click Privacy & Security.

  2. This should be set to Standard or Strict.

  3. To always allow Minnit to store cookies, click Manage Exceptions and allow https://minnit.chat and https://organizations.minnit.chat and Save changes. You may need to allow additional domains if the chat is using a vanity or custom domain.

Safari (iOS)

  1. Open the Settings app, click Apps, scroll down and click Safari.

  2. Scroll down and click Advanced.

  3. Make sure Block All Cookies is off.
